ASSET MANAGEMENT / SONY XDCAM EX WORKFLOW
National Boston
115 Dummer Street
Brookline, MA 02446
(617) 734-4800

The BAVUG would like to thank our presenters MerlinOne and Rule Broadcast. We'd also like to thank Nation Boston for hosting this month's meeting.

Schedule of Events:
6:30pm - 7:45pm |
Digital Asset Management
Jennifer McClain will be showing MerlinOne's digital asset management system. The system makes all digital content searchable, including documents, photos, graphics and video. Using MerlinOne's Speech-to-Text abilities and it's powerful DOX search engine, even spoken words in video are indexed and made searchable. Best of all, data can be transferred directly from MerlinOne into industry standard non-linear editors with markers and their respective notes included.

8:00pm - 9:00pm |
Sony XDCAM EX Workflow
Tom Talbot, Director of Technology for Rule Broadcast Systems / Boston Camera will be discussing Sony XDCAM EX workflow with Avid Media Composer 3.0 including how to transfer files, view and prep with clip browser software and ingest into Avid. Discussion to include file-based shooting options and storage considerations.

For the last eight years Tom has helped countless individuals and businesses understand, purchase and setup all sorts of production and post production systems both big and small. The depth and breadth of gear in both rentals and sales at Rule allows for a unique insight into all aspects of content creation technology including non-linear editing. Prior to Rule Broadcast Systems, Tom was at Disney Feature Animation specializing in digital workflows and infrastructure in Editorial / Post Production environments utilizing his Avid ACSR status.
